London Fair Raceway was the site of a record breaking performance on May 15th 2oo6 when
Nobananas, a 5 year old gelding owned and trained by Barry and Laurie Clarke of Dundalk Ontario blistered home in a track record
for a trotter of 1:57.3.
So remarkable is "Bananas" that he was able to return to the same track a week later and come home a winner again.
Bananas' success is in no small part due to the feeding program according to Laurie Clarke. Bananas trains and races on Competition Plus a "corn free" textured
feed along with Flax Appeal an Omega 3 rich supplement. Both feeds are manufactured by Brooks Performance Feeds in Port Perry Ontario the Ontario distributor for Kentucky Equine Research.
"I've done a lot of research on the benefits of Omega 3 fatty acids and everything I've read is true in Bananas' case, explained Laurie Clarke. He has lots of stamina,
he finishes real strong and he recovers very quickly after a race. In fact he'll be in the paddock kicking' up his heels the day after a race. The Omega 3's help with his
joints as well because of the anti-inflammatory properties. We feed Flax Appeal to all of our performance horses and believe it's a great natural way to improve the
horses condition."
Bananas is ready to tackle any and all challenges thanks to a sound feeding program and his natural ability. Brooks congratulates the Clarkes and wishes them continued success.
